A position paper should clearly state your country's stance on the committee's agenda. Research your assigned country's foreign policy, economic interests, and historical positions on similar issues. Structure your paper with an introduction, your country's position, and proposed solutions.
Bring formal business attire, notebooks, pens, your position paper, research materials, and a laptop if available. Don't forget your student ID and any conference materials provided during registration.
Awards are based on diplomatic skill, quality of research, effective communication, collaboration, and overall contribution to committee discussions. Judges evaluate delegates throughout the conference on these criteria.
Formal business attire is required for all sessions. This means suits or dress shirts with ties for men, and business suits, blazers, or professional dresses for women. Dress as you would for a real UN meeting.
Committee assignments are generally final to ensure balanced committees. However, if you have exceptional circumstances, contact the organizing committee at least two weeks before the conference to discuss possible changes.
